About Canterbury Christ Church University

Established in 1962, the Canterbury Christ Church College (CCCC) was given university status in 1995. The teachers training college started by the Church of England was supposed to provide teachers to Church schools which was facing a deficit at that time. Canterbury Christ Church University has campuses in The Sidney Cooper Gallery, Augustine House, Hall Place Enterprise Centre, apart from the main one in Canterbury. The university, in alliance with the University of Greenwich has campuses in Folkestone, Broadstairs and Tunbridge in Kent. In Medway CCCC has a campus in collaboration with Universities of Medway.

Five faculty groups are offered by Canterbury Christ Church University for research and teachings. The faculties include Education, Social and Applied Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Health and Social Care and Business and Management. The faculty head is the Pro-Vice Chancellor who is under Vice Chancellor.
